What Are Cookies

How We Use Cookies

We value your privacy here at RaceLeader, therefore we do not issue tracking cookies, nor do we collect or store any information about your visit. We keep cookies to a minimum and the only ones in use are those required for our site to function.

Disabling Cookies

You can prevent the use of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites you visit. It is generally recommended to keep cookies enabled in your browser.

The Cookies We Set

  • Form based cookies: We use request verification tokens on certain pages where information is submitted. This is an anti-forgery cookie used for preventing cross site request attacks. It is short lived, typically for the duration of a single page.

  • Login related cookies: Once logged in, we use an authentication cookie to remember who you are. This prevents you from having to log in every time you visit a new page. This cookie is cleared when you log out, or after 2 hours of inactivity.

  • CDN cookies: In order to optimise the delivery of our site, some resources are hosted on a content delivery network (CDN). Cookies are used to identify individual devices and apply security settings on a per-client basis. This does not contain any personally identifiable information.

At RaceLeader, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy contains the types of information that is collected and recorded by RaceLeader and how we use it.

This Privacy Policy applies to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website (www.raceleader.co.uk) with regards to the information they shared with and/or is collected by RaceLeader. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.

Information we collect

Any personal information you are asked to provide, and the reasons why it is required, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide it. If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of the message you send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our website and service
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our website and service
  • Communicate with you for the purposes of customer service and support

Log Files

RaceLeader is hosted on a platform that follows a standard procedure for logging Internet traffic. All hosting companies do this and is part of the hosting services' analytics. The information collected by these log files includes your IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages and date/time stamps. No personally identifiable information is collected. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, and gathering demographic information.

Advertising Partners Privacy Policies

Third-party ad servers or ad networks use web tracking technologies in their advertisements and links. These technologies use your IP address to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalize the advertising content that you see on the websites you visit. RaceLeader has no access or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

GDPR Data Protection Rights

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
  • The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate, or complete any information you believe is incomplete.
  • The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

Children's Information

We are committed to ensuring protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity. RaceLeader does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. However, if you believe your child provided this kind of information on our website, we encourage you to contact us and we will promptly remove such information from our records.

Privacy

RaceLeader is a bespoke application for managing Heads and Regattas. We are separate to BROE, which means data has to be exchanged between the two systems via exports and imports.

All data in RaceLeader is used for the sole purpose of organising and running competitions. This data is stored in a secure database, and served through encrypted TLS connections. We do not sell this data, nor do we pass it to any other parties. Basic information is exposed publicly for the purposes of the Draw and Results. Those with admin rights to RaceLeader can see more detailed information, but is restricted to the competition being administered.

British Rowing are aware of the RaceLeader system, and have used it for their own events, including the Power 8 Sprints and Junior Inter Regional Regatta (JIRR).
